How long are you going to live?

How long we live and how well we live is, for most of us, about 80% related to the choices we make and 20% to do with our genetic makeup. This statistic surprises many people and it then prompts the question, ‘what choices do I need to make in order to live my longest and best life?’.

Diet and Exercise

When do you think you will die?  You probably have an opinion on it.  You know when your parents and/or grandparents died, along with wider extended family, and you know what they died of, so whether there is a history of heart disease or cancer in your family. Let’s say its 82. How do you see yourself living in those last 10 years that we will call your Marginal Decade?  How vital do you want to be?  How mobile?  What do you want to be able to do?  If you could be living a mobile and active life in your Marginal Decade, would you want to be able to extend it by a few years?

How you live your life in your 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and even your 70’s will make a huge difference to when your marginal decade starts (and finishes) and how much you will be able to do and enjoy doing in that decade.
